The NAIC's 2017 consumer outreach plan is centered on our core four: auto, home, life and health insurance. For the first wave, we have launched Disasters Redefined to talk to consumers about homeowners insurance and specific disaster risks.
Rita Moreno Steals the Show
We're also continuing our partnership with legendary entertainer Rita Moreno for another show stopping year. Her campaign targeting seniors and promoting financial literacy was a focal point of our 2016 consumer outreach. Her radio public service announcement (PSA) pulled in nearly 440 million impressions – an ad value of $6.8 million. Moreno will continue to spread the word in a television PSA scheduled for release this summer.
A Word on Awards…
Our communications and consumer education programs were recognized in March at the PR News Nonprofit Awards at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. RJ Mitte's "Bad Breaks" Video Campaign took home first place for best video program and Tough Tasks Made Easy received an honorable mention for PR on a Shoestring Budget.
